Active Projects 2024

At Sy-Con Excavation & Utilities, we’re all about hard work, grit, and getting the job done right. In today’s blog post, we’re taking you behind the scenes of our 10 active projects, showing the variety of work we do and the dedication it takes to move the ground you build on. From large-scale infrastructure projects to residential builds, here’s a closer look at how we keep everything running smoothly.

1. JB Town Homes We’ve been heavily involved in this project, handling public and private storm drainage, primary and secondary electric, and the complete installation of water and sewer services. It’s been a challenging job, especially with so many details to match existing structures, but our crew has been pushing through to ensure every utility and earthwork improvement is up to spec. We're almost at the finish line!

2. Northwest 5th Street Town Homes Another set of townhomes in Bentonville, this project involves bringing water infrastructure and adding sewer taps for new duplexes. While we’re 75% done, the biggest challenge here has been navigating existing infrastructure, especially a water main just 18 inches below the curb. We’re working closely with the city and engineers to get everything lined up and ready to go.

3. Northwest 4th Street Development This job involves laying water and sewer lines for a multi-building complex near Bentonville Square. It’s part of the city’s push to accommodate the growing population, driven by the biking culture and proximity to Walmart’s headquarters. We’re excited to start turning dirt on this project soon!

4. Bentonville Municipal Airport We’re back at the airport for another phase of development, cutting in taxi lanes and access roads. This time, we’re doing some earthwork and utility installations, all while navigating the tight requirements of the FAA and local civil engineers. We’re proud to be working here again after crushing our initial work last year.

5. O’Reilly Auto Parts Here, we’re dealing with a 24-foot-deep manhole for sewer services. Our team is working through the intricate process of coring into an existing manhole and dropping pipes 8 to 10 feet deep. Safety is a priority, with live sewer lines and gases to manage, so we’ve got gas meters and harnesses on hand to keep everything on track.

6. Park Meadows Utilities At Park Meadows, we’ve been laying nearly 900 feet of waterline with oversized thrust blocks to meet the stringent standards of Fayetteville. Our crew has been executing this project with precision, showing what preparation looks like before execution. This multifamily utility project is a prime example of our expertise in waterline work.

7. Huntsville Apartments This utility package involved laying 1,800 feet of sewer and 1,200 feet of waterline. We took over from a previous contractor and finished up the work with sewer taps and water services. We’re looking forward to wrapping this one up soon and moving on to the next challenge.

8. Residential Mountain Driveway This residential project is wrapping up, but it’s been a unique job involving a concrete driveway built on a steep mountain slope. We’ve designed an engineered drainage system with a distribution box to handle runoff effectively. Our crew has been working through the drought to get grass growing and finish the last touches on this challenging build.

9. Large-Scale Utility and Earthwork Project This is one of our favorite projects—laying sewer, water, and electrical infrastructure for a large development. We’ve already laid thousands of feet of sewer line and are currently working on water services. The crew has been killing it, working long hours and staying on track to meet tight deadlines. Big shout-out to Zeus and the team for stepping up and delivering top-quality work!

10. Nature-Based Development Our team has been working hard on another large project, tackling long days and night shifts to keep everything on schedule. This job involves earthwork and utility installation, with plans to expand into the private sector. We’re pushing through every challenge to get it done right.

These 10 projects are just a snapshot of what Sy-Con does day in and day out. We take pride in every pipe laid, every trench dug, and every road paved. From small residential jobs to large public works, we’re the blue-collar crew that keeps the ground moving.
