The City of Gravette

At Sy-Con Excavation & Utilities, we are thrilled to highlight our pivotal role in the Birmingham Watermain Rehabilitation and Replacement project for the City of Gravette. This essential utility upgrade spans approximately six blocks, focusing on enhancing the city’s water delivery and fire suppression capabilities.

Project Details:

• Water Main Replacement: Over 1,400 linear feet of 8-inch C900 water main was meticulously replaced, significantly improving the infrastructure within a 20-foot easement alley behind residential properties.

• Fire Hydrant Installations: Four new fire hydrant assemblies were installed, greatly enhancing the area's fire suppression readiness and safety standards.

• Connection and Integration: We worked closely with the Gravette Water Department to seamlessly switch all existing meter services to the newly installed water line, ensuring minimal disruption to residents.

• Excavation and Safety: All necessary excavations for existing meter service connections were carried out with precision, following strict safety protocols to protect our team and community residents.

• Investigative and Precision Work: The project involved multiple investigative digs and the careful deletion of outdated sections of the water line, along with establishing four critical water main tie-in points within existing roadways.

• Testing and Compliance: After installation, the new system underwent rigorous hydro-testing, chlorination, disinfection, and Bac-T sampling to ensure water quality and safety.

• Road and Site Restoration: Full road compaction of all trenches was performed to restore the site to its original condition, ensuring smooth transitions and durability of the paved surfaces.
