Dollar General

Full Utility Package

At Sy-Con Excavation & Utilities, we are proud to showcase our comprehensive civil utility project for the Dollar General development along State Hwy 102. This full utility package exemplifies our commitment to precision and robust infrastructure development.

Project Overview:

  • Water System Installation:

    • Steel Encasement: 125 LF of 16-inch steel encasement using Jack & Bore technique under State Hwy 102.

    • Water Main: Installation of 560 LF of 8-inch C900 water main.

    • Hydrants and Services: Setup includes two fire hydrant assemblies, one domestic and one irrigation 1-inch water meter service.

    • Testing and Safety: The entire water system underwent hydro-testing, chlorination, disinfection, and Bac-T sampling, adhering to all OSHA standards for trench safety.

    Sewer System Construction:

    • Depth and Manholes: Sewer systems with an average depth of 8 feet, including three cast-in-place manholes.

    • Service Connection: A 4-inch sewer service connection located within 5 feet of the proposed building.

    • Testing and Compliance: Vacuum testing of all manholes, line pressure testing, and camera inspections ensure the integrity and functionality of the sewer system.

    Storm Drainage Capabilities:

    • Robust Piping: Installation of 350 LF of 18-inch, 100 LF of 24-inch, and 80 LF of 30-inch RCP.

    • Innovative Drainage Solutions: Connection to an underground ADS retention system and the installation of an 864 LF 3’x5’x6’ box culvert to transform a road frontage ditch into useful space.

    • Strategic Location: The project required precise operations directly underneath transmission lines and within the AR DOT state highway right of way, necessitating the use of specialized equipment to meet strict site conditions.

    Advanced Detention System:

    • Detention System Size and Setup: A .75-acre underground ADS retention/detention system with a 7-foot average depth from subgrade, installed per engineered drawings.

    • Protection and Stability: The system is protected with a fabric layer and filled with ¾ inch clean rock using a telebelt for uniform distribution and to ensure no structural movement.

    Concrete and Infrastructure:

    • Structures and Connections: Includes three inlet cast-in-place concrete structures with extensive RCP connections.

    • System Integration: Complete exportation of all existing materials to facilitate new installations, with thorough coordination and inspection by engineers, city officials, and ADS to ensure compliance and performance.

This project at Dollar General not only supports commercial viability but also enhances community infrastructure through strategic civil engineering and utility management. Sy-Con's expertise ensures that every aspect of utility installation meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
