Full Civil Utility Package
Sy-Con Excavation & Utilities successfully completed a full civil utility project at Northwest Park, delivering essential infrastructure upgrades for both water and sewer systems. This project required precision, safety, and expertise due to the depth of excavation and the location within a public baseball park.
Water System
Water Main Extensions: Installed 300 feet of 8’’ Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP) water main extensions.
Tapping Sleeves and Valves: Installed 4 separate tapping sleeve and valve connections for fire hydrant installation.
Meter Installations: Placed 1’’ water meters and a 2’’ irrigation meter to support park operations.
Testing and Safety: The project included full road compaction of all trenches, testing, chlorination, and Bac-T samples to ensure system quality and safety.
Sewer System
Sewer Main Installation: Laid 1280 LF of 8’’ PVC public sewer main, starting from a 16-foot deep manhole core located in an existing public road.
Manholes: Installed 8 cast-in-place manholes with depths ranging from 8 to 14 feet.
Sewer Connections and Testing: Completed all sewer service connections, including vacuum testing of manholes, line pressure testing, and camera testing for quality assurance.
Challenges: The depth of excavation, which reached up to 16 feet, was carried through an existing baseball park, requiring careful planning and execution to minimize disruptions while upgrading the system.
Safety: All trench work adhered to OSHA safety standards, ensuring a safe and efficient operation.
